| Good morning! |
[Sep. 16th, 2004|08:58 am] |
Just got off the treadmill. I need to get back into the swing of using that thing. I prefer to go outside and get away from everyone/everything for an hour, but that is pretty unrealistic with Mike gone as much as he is. And Erin refuses to stay in the stroller for that long. The treadmill works, so that is what I will do. More odds and ends to get done today. Bow season opened yesterday and Mike is planning on going hunting on Saturday morning so I need to make him a camo hoodie thing before then, so I will most likely get that done today. And more painting. Registered a domain name for my art website yesterday. I will keep everyone posted on the progress and let you know when it is published. Wish me luck. I am a little nervous about it...sharing my art. It has just been for me and family/friends up until now. I know I should have a thicker skin about it, but it is just something that is very personal for me. Dork...I know. Hee hee. :p~ Well gotta go get everyone ready for the day...Don't be strangers!! | Checking in again! |
[Sep. 15th, 2004|04:16 pm] |

Well, I managed to get Erin to sleep for a little while. I just don't get it. She used to love her naptime. She would take my hand and lead me to her room and stretch her arms up to be put in the crib. Now...ha! Kicking and screaming the whole way and we have to go through the whole thing at least twice before she actually takes the nap. Ugh. I know she is tired and believe me, she really needs the nap, but she is stubborn as a mule. So, anyway, while she was sleeping I painted the next layer on gray and black tabby with the green eyes. I am happy with the way it is coming along. I know I keep saying I am going to try and post some pics on here...I will!!! |

| Happy Wednesday! |
[Sep. 15th, 2004|09:15 am] |
Sorry I have not written the past couple of days. Mike is home and it is hard to get on here for any length of time. He is flying out again today. San Diego tonight and I think Norfolk, VA the next. I don't really keep track anymore. He will be home Friday night/Saturday morning-that's all I know. So anyway, I am off today to ship the skateboard that sold on ebay. Have to run to Frederick to the UPS store-woo hoo!!! Then I think I will try to paint some more this afternoon if Miss Erin will let me. She is still climbing out of her crib at naptime, so we'll see. If you are just lurking on here...stop it and post dangit!!! Be back later! L. |

| Happy Birthday Hugs!! |
[Sep. 11th, 2004|07:56 am] |
9/11, our little girls birthday!! Yes, she was born on the first anniversary of the World Trade Center and Pentagon Bombings. For those of you who don't know this story, my husband and I had been going to the doctor's office every week before she was born and my next appointment was the 11th. He had made a comment the week before that he did not care what her birthday was, just as long as it wasn't Sept. 11th. I told him that he had jinxed it and now it was certain that she was going to be born on that day. So we made a bet. If she was born on 9/11, he had to bring me a Subway 6" turkey on white sandwich while I was in the hospital (my favorite fast food!!!) and if she was born on any other day, I would take him out to his favorite sushi place after I got back to "normal" from the delivery. Ha! I was enjoying my turkey sandwich from my room at Sibley Hospital in DC. It was strange driving into DC on that day knowing there were tanks and rocket launchers on the city streets. The fly over by the Blue Angels over the Pentagon flew right over us on the way to the hospital. That was cool. Just a little sunshine for us on a horrible day for so many others. We call her our Sept 11th blessing. My heart and prayers are with the families who lost loved ones three years ago today, and I encourage everyone to stop and think today. Not just about the victims and families of 9/11 but of our men and women serving over in Iraq. Never forget! |

| Thank God it's Friday! |
[Sep. 10th, 2004|10:47 am] |
Mike comes home today from a three day. I don't even know where he was the other night. The west coast somewhere. Last night he was in Islip, NY. Hopefully his new business will be picking up now and he can quit flying so much. It is hard on all of us to have him gone so much. I ordered a few new stretched canvases (??spelled correctly??) from the Dick Blick catalog. That entire catalog is like a wish book for me. Well, when I become famous...hahaha. Have a few last things on eBay that are selling today. Other than that, if you get a minute check out www.artbyus.com. I love this website and with a little courage, I might put something of mine on there. I have a few gift baskets to get ready today too, for Mike's mom's crab feast this weekend. Have to wrap Miss Erin's Birthday presents too!! Two tomorrow...already. :( Getting too big, too fast. |

| Rainy day! |
[Sep. 9th, 2004|10:06 am] |
Yeah! It's raining still! We needed it-our grass is all parched. It is really dark this morning. Erin did not get up until after Joe left for school because it was so dark in her room. Ryan is down for a snooze right now. Did the usual this morning-made the beds, showered, got Joe off to school, etc...we are going to the grocery store later for fish food and some other misc staples. Erin dumped the whole can of fish flakes into the tank the other day. I guess she thought they were hungry! I am going to try to finish up my orange tabby this afternoon too and maybe start on another kitty. We'll see how the time goes. ;P~ I am going to try and post some pics on here later if you want to check back! Adios! L. |

| Woo hoo! New Blog for me! |
[Sep. 8th, 2004|04:06 pm] |
Hey everyone! I was looking for a venue to keep in touch with old friends and maybe make some new ones and this looks like it! Feel free to post on here. Just please sign for me so I know who I am talking to. Same old going on here. Kids are all doing well. I can hear Joe playing with Ryan upstairs-goofy kids! I am working on an oil of a sleeping orange tabby cat. It is an 8x10 and I like it so much I am wishing I would have chosen a larger canvas. I will scan it in when it is dry. I don't normally keep photos of works in progress, but I might if anyone is interested. I don't get to dedicate as much time to painting (or photography!) as I would like with the kids being as little as they are, but it is getting better. :D My other business is going well! I am planning on publishing my website www.bumblebee-baskets.com within the next month. I am behind schedule, but the hard drive crash (dang it...)pushed it back since I lost the whole darn thing, but I pretty much have it rebuilt. I am looking at attaching a blog to the website (maybe I will attach it to the family one...). One less thing to click into, right? I have some baskets to display at a business party Mike's mom is hosting this weekend so hopefully that will bring in some more new business. New business is always good!! And...Erin's birthday is Saturday!!! Our little 9/11 blessing is turning two! We have decided to hold off on the party until my mom can get out here. It is only a few weeks and Erin doesn't know...Maybe we will have a little something on her day. I don't know...I just can't believe she is two already. Eek. The time flies. Well, that about does it for the initial entry. Feel free to post!! L. |
